What is Joyous Celebration?
Founded in 1994 after the first democratic elections in South Africa, Joyous Celebration is a gospel choir from South Africa. South African musicians’ one-time studio project became a massive platform for upcoming artists.
With 23 albums released to date, the choir is enjoying success in South Africa and throughout the African continent. The choir follows in the footsteps of acts such as The Soweto Gospel Choir.

How To Audition & which country can audition?
Please register if you are a vocalist from South Africa or elsewhere. You will have access to a variety of opportunities if you join this amazing group. This search is not only for the benefit of the group but for you as well.
All kinds of unique vocalists from South Africa and beyond who are interested are invited to register. During pre-registration, please send an SMS or Whatsapp to 073 217 3717 with your details (Name, Surname, ID Number, Mobile Number).
MTN Joyous Celebration Talent Search Aidition Location
Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Durban will host auditions.
There will be auditions in Cape Town on 1 June, Johannesburg on 11 and 12 July, and Durban on 2 and 3 August. You can visit the group’s official website at www.joyous.co.za.
Eligibility For criteria for Joyous Celebration Talent 2024
The following criteria must be met in order to participate as a Contestant and Voter:
- You cannot be (a) an employee, director, or prize sponsor of the Promoter, (b) an employee, director, or prize sponsor of the Promoter’s prize sponsors, or (c) an employee or director of an advertising agency, PR company, sponsor, partner, immediate family member, agent, consultant, or household member of (a) or (b).
- Applicants with a valid 13-digit South African identity document must be permanent residents or citizens of South Africa.
- If you’re 18 years of age or older, or if you’re under 18 but you’re represented by a parent or legal guardian, and the parent or legal guardian has the right, power, and authority to consent to these T&Cs both on your behalf and on their own behalf (the minor).
Audition Process For Contestants
To participate in the Competition, you must submit a video recording of yourself performing a track from the Exclusive Album on Mtn joy celebration.co.za before the submission deadline.
- Applicants may enter up to two songs maximum of 2 minutes each.
- Contestants may only enter individually,
- Group entries will not be accepted.
- Contestants and/or songs that do not comply with these rules will automatically be disqualified from The competition or may result in disqualification at the Promoter’s absolute discretion.
